Cross Keys Hotel

  The Cross Keys Hotel is a 17th century Coaching Inn situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Canonbie, which nestles within the valley of the Border Esk just off the main A7 trunk road to Edinburgh. The Inn offers ensuite bed and breakfast accommodation and good food - either in the Bar or in the Restaurant.

  The Cross Keys Hotel has 10 en-suite bedrooms each individually and charmingly decorated. The bedrooms are all comfortably furnished with television, tea and coffee making facilities and each has central heating. Many of the bright and airy rooms have picturesque views over the surrounding countryside. The immaculate private bathrooms are perfect for a relaxing soak or an invigorating shower before dinner. High quality toiletries and generously sized towels are provided.

  You can relax in either of the two bars one a cosy lounge bar which in the colder months boasts a roaring log fire and the other, the public bar, is full of local character (and characters). We stock over 30 malt whiskies and pride ourselves on our excellent beers and lagers. Bar lunches and evening meals are served daily in the lounge bar. The menu is extensive catering for all tastes. A wide variety of interesting vegetarian dishes are always available. Our Specials board changes daily reflecting the fresh produce available in season.

  Our restaurant is open daily serving freshly prepared meals. On Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch why not try our renowned Carvery which serves generous portions of succulent roast meats and fresh vegetables with one of our delicious home made desserts to follow. The Carvery is available in the evening (available on Saturday night all year and on some Fridays) - £13.95 per person; Sunday Lunch £10.95 per person.

  Weddings: With Gretna Green just a 15 minute drive away, the Cross Keys Hotel is the perfect place to hold your wedding reception. Everything needed to make your big day a perfect day is available locally including photographers, florists, hairdressers, wedding cars and of course the many marriage venues located in the romantic village of Gretna Green. Our dining room can accommodate up to 48 people in a traditional top table arrangement. Special wedding menus are available catering for all tastes.
