  Opportunities abound for walkers and there are many local walks around the Esk Valley and through the Estate forests.

Just off the main A7 trunk road to Edinburgh, we are within 10 minutes drive of Gretna to the south, famous for its weddings or Langholm to the north. Carlisle with its historic castle and cathedral as well as a major shopping centre is only 14 miles away.
